The Importance of Healthcare

Melina B is an employee at The Arc of Midland. She makes the office so much more fun, and we love seeing her each day. Melina is authoring the blog, and “spilling the tea” about all sorts of things while sharing her perspective! Follow along as Melina posts each Monday for “Mondays with Melina. ”

At The Arc of Midland, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, healthy, and supported. As guardians of the community, we walk alongside the people we serve, helping them navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and access the services they need. Whether it’s guiding someone through medical appointments, providing access to vital resources, or offering free vaccine clinics, The Arc ensures that no one has to face these challenges alone.

Melina’s reflection highlights how important it is to trust healthcare professionals, and get healthcare when you need it.

Without further ado…

“Having Health care is very important. Give them grace, they do great things. They help so many people that need help, making sure everyone is healthy and safe and coming out with shots so everybody can be. I know everyone might not want to hear bad news but that's Normal for doctors, but they are smart, and good, they are not doing it to be mean. They know our body, we can't know because we're not a Doctor and we all don't know everyone feels we can't all read people's minds, that be great if we did. Nobody wants to hear bad news. There's Medications, Vaccines, Blood drawn but they are looking out for everybody and so they know everybody needs to Listen to Doctors orders because they care about everybody in the whole entire world. If we Disobey Doctors it's not gonna be good. We all have to look at a bigger picture. Not many people don't ever stay at home if the Doctors say. Let the Professionals do their job, we all gotta be Healthy. 911 does so much too because they help get people help a lot faster. I'm super grateful for all they do for us. They do so much for our community and in the world. Do NOT EVER take health care and 911 for granted. You always have healthcare, friends and family that are looking out for all of us. Remember EVERYBODY NEEDS HELP !”
