Melina B is an employee at The Arc of Midland. She makes the office much more fun, and we love seeing her each day. Melina is authoring the blog, and “spilling the tea” about all sorts of things while sharing her perspective! Follow along as Melina posts each Monday for “Mondays with Melina.”

This week, Melina reflects on how spending time with friends and staying active helps her enjoy life to the fullest, especially during the holiday season. Whether it’s sharing a laugh over cider and doughnuts or creating memories at a craft night, Melina reminds us that being around people we care about helps us thrive. The holidays may be special, but at The Arc of Midland, we know that fostering connections and inclusion is something we celebrate all year long.

Without further ado…

My favorite thing to do in the Fall is going to Baynes to get cider and doughnuts and I love going out to eat, swimming and going putt putt. I love my job. I love to go to the movies. Doing once a week craft night with friends, getting smoothies, going to Bay city pottery. I love going out because it's very good for my well being and seeing friends. And it helps me to stay busy and active and it helps my mental health so I'm not sitting in the Dark. not doing anything and i need to be chatty with people and enjoy life! And just be ME! I am so smart. It is good for me being around people because if i don’t things will be way harder later in life. And if i wasn't active i would get health issues and I would miss out on the things I enjoy doing. And it helps me be motivated. And doing fun Activities outside of my home. I love going to the park. I like doing things with my friends. And enjoying life is better, and just being me and having a great life i can have and enjoy it every minute of it. And I love it!
