World Down Syndrome Day
To mark World Down Syndrome Day, The Arc of Midland's staff organized an internal celebration by wearing cool, colorful socks to symbolize the uniqueness and diversity of individuals with Down Syndrome. The 21st day of March was chosen to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down Syndrome, and has been observed annually by the United Nations since 2012. The staff wore colorful socks to foster creativity and emphasize individuality. The Arc of Midland always has a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity and acceptance!
